Masary is built for every Emirati student in Grades 8–12, and that includes students, parents, counsellors, and visitors who use assistive technology or who experience the web differently. We are committed to making masary.ae and the Masary platform usable by as many people as possible, and we treat accessibility as part of doing our work well, not as an afterthought.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the Masary website and platform. WCAG defines how to make digital content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with a wide range of disabilities. We test against these criteria during design and development and review them regularly.
Screen-reader compatibility. Pages use semantic structure, meaningful headings, descriptive labels, and alternative text for images so that screen readers can present content clearly. We test with widely used screen readers.
Readable colour and contrast. We design text and interface colours to meet AA contrast requirements, and we avoid relying on colour alone to convey meaning.
Clear, plain language. Guidance is written to be understood by students, with support from the AI personas and counsellors.
Responsive and scalable. Content reflows for mobile, tablet, and desktop, and remains usable when text is enlarged.
Masary is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (such as Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox) on desktop and mobile, used together with common assistive technologies including screen readers and screen magnification. We recommend keeping your browser and assistive software up to date for the best experience.
We are continually improving Masary, and some areas may not yet fully meet our Level AA target, for example, certain interactive simulations or third-party embedded content. Where we are aware of a limitation, we work to fix it and, where possible, offer an accessible alternative. If you encounter a barrier we have not listed, please tell us so we can address it.
